Our Young Archaeologists’ having good fun testing out De-Picting Dunkeld
What an interesting week we have had! Midweek memories is now being hosted on a monday afternoon from 3-4:30pm. This allows us to continue holding the club during the busy summer months without having to close the archive to the public.
All are welcome to join in the group, a taxi can be organised if required for attendees by contacting the archive.

Last friday afternoon we recieved a fabulous collection of reference books on Tartan and clans, this collection contained 73 books!
Ruth attended the 3D Novations end of Project presentation in Birnam Arts on Wednesday. This was an excellent way to see the fabulous outcomes achieved by the project. If you are interested in 3D Novations and finding out more about what they do, click this link.

On Thursday Imogen led a tour around Dunkeld for the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. The group had a lovely time learning about some of the history of Dunkeld (helped of course in part by the fabulous weather we have had this week). More information about the society can be found on their webpage by clicking this link.

Thursday was especially busy! After the morning tour with the Society of Antiquaries, some of the students forming Team Dunkeld from the Abertay university Applied Games and research practice masters course came to demonstrate the game they have created as part of the project to our young archaeologists’ club.
The kids had a fantastic time testing the game and giving their feedback to the students, we are excited to see the completed game later this month.
The game is called De-picting Dunkeld and focuses on the excavations at King’s Seat and the history of the site. There are several mini games within, it is excellent fun.
A big thank you to Rían, Luke, Kieron, Hayley and Connor for all their hardwork on this amazing game.
