THE LOST WITCHES OF DUNKELD
The witching hour is nigh ….
Local storyteller, Lindsey Gibb, gives a vivid and fascinating account of the so called ‘witches’ of Dunkeld and the surrounding areas during the superstition-rife 17th century.
Witches conjure up many different ideas and images – come and hear how it could be fatal to be labelled a witch in the 1600s, and discover the forgotten stories of local women and men, who they were and how they came to be called ‘witch’ and their surprising fates.
Hear about the unexpected role The Atholls played, how a hat caused an accusation of witchcraft and how two brave women fought back.
