We hosted our members only festive event last friday evening, this included dark festive stories with Lindsey Gibb and a chance to chat to the other members of the group. It was a lovely evening and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon for our LiDAR and Aerial Photography workshop in January. Tickets still available online via this link, numbers limited.

This week the archive has been struck down by the dreaded lurgy!

We have still been very busy as it is our last working week before Christmas holidays! We will be closed from the 20th of December and will be reopening on the 5th of January. We will be back to Monday Memories straight away and we look forward to seeing everyone there and having a good ol’ catch up.

After the incident in which our window was broken earlier this year, we have now had it replaced! This was a very sad incident for us as we opperate on a very small budget and large unexpected costs such as vandlism to our building are very detrimental to our running. A big thank you to the enthusiastic glaziers on such a chilly day.

Our development officer Liz came to visit this week, it has been a very busy week with meetings across the community before our development project fully begins in 2026. Keep your eyes peeled for future updates…

The Young Archaeologists’ Club were partying hard on Thursday, they had spooky festive stories with Lindsey Gibb and then some party games. The kids had great fun learning that there are lots of creepy christmas creatures who like to eat naughty children during the christmas season!

Our christmas quiz winner has been announced! Thank you to all who participated, our winner is Theresa McLean who scored 18/20.  Congratulations to her, here she is with her prize of Baileys and chocolate.

We have recieved multiple applications for our new 2026 project, but there are still a few slots left! There is availability for 1 house and 2 buisnesses. If you would like us to research the history of your house or building which your buisness is in, please get in touch.

We have now reached the interview stage for our audit assistant role, thank you to all of you who applied to the position. We look forward to updating you in the new year about everything they will be getting up to.

This is our last update for 2025! We look forward to sharing all of our goings on with you all in the new year.  Merry Christmas and a happy new year from everyone here in the Archive. 🎄🌟
