After our fantastic funding news last week we are now in the full swing of arranging our activities for 2026. We have exciting activities starting in January with our public consultation in the Duchess Anne on the 14th of January at 7PM. Come along to hear about our plans and offer you opinions about what you would like to see from a new and improved museum and heritage centre in Dunkeld.
We have recieved an amazing accession this week…We have been on the hunt for the missing James MacIntosh slides for years now and we have just recieved digital copies of nearly all the images! We are still on the lookout for the physical lantern slides so please let us know if you have any leads. The fantastic image above of the young boy and the pig above has come from this collection.
We have been busy with clubs this week, starting off with Monday memories. The subject of this week was cathedral street which sparked some fabulous memories of renovations and changes in the area. The young archaeologists’ club this week were making some retro festive crafts, we had a try at making pompoms (results varied, us grown ups were entierly to blame. Sorry kids)!
We have also been busy this week getting ready for Santa Day on the 6th of December. We are so excited to have a stall which we are sharing with the Birnam Book festival this year. Come along to the cross to visit us and have a look at our Santa day exclusive shop stock. We are so happy to be part of this amazing community event which has been running since 1989.
Our Archive Audit assisstant role is still open for applicants, if you are interested in applying please follow this link.
