This week has included lots of prep work for the events on Friday and Saturday evening. On Friday evening we have another Archaeology and History club event, we have Paul McLennan the Murthly Estate archivist coming to the Perth Arms as part of our ” Conversation with…” series.

Our next workshop will be held on the 30th of October in the Perth Arms. It is a map regression workshop with James Jarvis. Tickets are available from Eventbrite, limited numbers may be available on the door. 

Saturday night is the Royal School of Dunkeld 1970s school reunion. 7.30pm -11pm in Birnam Arts. 
Open bar, nibbles & music of the era.  Dunkeld Community Archives will present an exhibition of photographs from the period. Come along for the opportunity to catch up with your former classmates! 

We had a our monday memories group this week, they were discussing previous shops and buisness from the area. It was very interesting to learn about what used to be in the area. 

Our young archaeologists’ club are on their october holidays (known as the tattie holidays in Perthshire), their next session will be on the 30th of October. 

This week we had a recording take place for part of the Tayside and Fife Archaeological Conference. The Tayside Museum Forum usually host an online “Tayside Treasures” event, but this year the talks will be prerecorded and played as part of the TAFAC conference. Jamie Kunka popped in to record a bit of the story regarding the flints found during our young archaeologist’s trial excavation.  Keep your eyes peeled to find out more.
