We have had a varied and exciting week in the archive! We began with Monday Memories, but this week were quizzing the group on their knowledge of local houses and businesses which are a part of our National Lottery Heritage funded project exploring the history of 12 local properties. We are still on the hunt for more information about the homes and businesses we are researching so please get in touch if you have some information.

On Tuesday we were closed to the Public for a training day from Museums Galleries Scotland about Climate and Nature planning as part of their Museum Futures Programme. Lucy and Lucy came to the archive to deliver the course to a group of our staff and volunteers. We finished the training with a walk through Stanley Hill Park and then a group discussion around the fabulous new table in St Ninian’s Gardens (former site of the Dunkeld Gasworks). During the Stanley Hill walk there was a very confident little Robin who had a good listen to all our conversations.

On Wednesday Imogen paid a visit to the Perth and Kinross Archives to utilise some of their Valuation Rolls in Project research.  This was a great help as it allowed us to trace the residents of many of the Properties which are being researched as part of our ongoing shops and houses project. It is so interesting to learn about who lived in the village in years gone by.
