Thanks to funding from the AIM Pilgrim Trust Collections and Conservation grant, important conservation work has been carried out on this amazing photograph album from 1857.
Originally gifted to us from a charity shop in Yorkshire, the photographer and importance of the album have been identified. The album contains the earliest ever photographs of Dunkeld from May 1857 taken by an amateur photographer, Dr John Wheeley Gough Gutch, during his only trip to Scotland.
The album will now go on display in the Dunkeld Community Archive.
